MYTH #1: Working with a travel advisor is more expensive than booking on your own.

FACT: Working with a travel advisor SAVES you money in the end! When you book on your own through public sites, you are actually paying commission to the agents that work for these online companies behind the scenes. Hotels prefer working with travel advisors instead of such companies and therefore offer perks on bookings made through advisors. Room upgrades, resort/spa credit, free breakfast or drinks, early check in/late check out, and welcome amenities are common perks that advisors can secure. Travel advisors also have access to different booking platforms that are not available to the public and can often find rates that are less expensive than those advertised online. And while some advisors charge booking fees, WanderLush does NOT – all of our services are free!

MYTH #2: Travel advisors are for inexperienced travelers.

FACT: Even the most seasoned traveler can benefit from working with a travel advisor. Advisors bring significant destination, hotel, and touring expertise to the planning process; have a vast network of   partnerships around the world; ensure the quality of your experience; get you the best available rates; and secure additional amenities and upgrades whenever possible.

MYTH #3: Travel advisors are not for those who like to plan the details of their vacations.

FACT: WanderLush is for both those who love to plan their own vacations and those who hate it! You can do all the research on your own and just send us the details, and we can then book your selections to secure perks, upgrades, and discounts. You can also send us a very basic idea of what you are looking for and let us do all the work!

MYTH #4: Travel advisors are best for complicated trips.

FACT: At WanderLush, we are happy to help with all trips, from simple, one-night hotel bookings for solo travelers to complex, multi-country itineraries for large groups. Save time and stress planning it all!

MYTH #5: It’s too late to start working with a travel advisor once you’ve made plans.

FACT: Travel advisors can often be added to pre-existing bookings to secure the same amenities and upgrades they could have received if they made the booking for you initially. All you have to do is forward us your confirmation and we will take it from there!

MYTH #6: You can’t earn hotel points if you book through a travel advisor.

FACT: If you are part of a membership or rewards program, we can earn you the same hotel points as if you booked on your own. There is no disadvantage to booking through us!
